Locomotive Maintainer - Didcot
£28.32 per hour - Umbrella paid (Inside IR35)
Situation.
We are looking for a Level 3 qualified Mechanical fitter (local to Dicot) who can earn themselves a chance to go permanent after 6 months with one of the Largest Railway Freight maintaining companies in the UK. You will be part of a servicing, examinations, and mechanical maintenance team who conducts mechanical tasks on locomotives where full training will be provided, and extra training courses paid for by your employer for upskilling your abilities. Ideally the candidate has attained mechanical experience in the automotive , aerospace ,ex forces or HGV’s industries .
The Candidate
- Will be comfortable with service checks on Brakes , Engines and understand checking fluid levels
- Will be able to understand electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and diesel engine maintenance principles.
- Will be able to complete engineering tasks as per instruction, follow strict guidelines and work to written specifications set by clients.
- Will be competent in the use of hand tools such as torque wrenches and be physically fit enough to handle them effectively.
Essential
- You will need to have an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- This vacancy is an immediate requirement, and immediate start is available for the right candidate,
- You must be able to work on a Saturday
- You must be able to pass drug & alcohol testing and medical screening.
