Position: Engineer - Dayshift

Salary: 47,231.27
Hours of work: 42 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 2.00pm to 10.30pm and Friday 2.00pm to 10.00pm

Role Profile:

The role of the Engineer is to carry out all aspects of plant maintenance and repair to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the mill's production and intake systems, in order to minimise downtime and deliver business objectives.

You will proactively carry out all aspects of plant maintenance to a planned schedule, seeking solutions where abnormalities occur. This involves working closely with the mill team to address breakdowns or interruptions to production and dealing promptly with any issues, escalating where necessary.

An essential part of the role is driving continuous improvement-reviewing current methodology and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, quality, and performance.

Daily duties include ensuring all relevant maintenance records are accurately recorded to maintain legal compliance and a safe working environment.

Person Specification:

  • Qualification/apprenticeship in both mechanical and electrical fields (minimum 17th Edition certified)
  • Experience working under strict safety and quality control procedures and KPIs
  • Good knowledge of Star Delta and PLC systems (advantageous)
  • Understanding of the Safe Isolation process
  • Proven experience implementing both short-term and long-term engineering solutions covering electrical and mechanical equipment
