General Manager – Leisure Travel business

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented and experienced General Manager to lead a well-established and growing multi-channel travel business. This role is ideal for a senior travel industry professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys leading diverse teams, and is passionate about growth and innovation in leisure travel.
You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations across retail sales, administration, marketing, and a rapidly expanding homeworking division. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on business development and offers significant autonomy to shape the future of the business.
General Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small in-house call centre and admin team to achieve and exceed sales targets
- Develop and execute marketing strategies across digital and traditional platforms
- Oversee website management and content for multiple travel brands
- Expand and support a national network of homeworkers, including recruitment, onboarding, and training
- Manage key financial functions including budgeting, invoicing, and commission payments
- Identify and launch new product opportunities, with a focus on high-margin offerings such as cruise and long-haul travel
- Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to drive commercial performance
General Manager Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience in retail travel management, or call centre, or homeworking environments
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams
- Commercially driven with a strong track record in achieving sales and growth targets
- Excellent understanding of leisure travel products and customer expectations
- Confident managing financial operations and performance reporting
- Creative thinker with experience in marketing, digital engagement, and customer acquisition
