Financial ControllerSouth Yorkshirec£80,000

We’re looking for a Financial Controller who is ready to take on a leadership role that blends hands-on financial management with real influence over business performance. Working across a multi-site operation in the UK, you’ll be a key part of the senior teams, providing the insight and information needed to shape decisions and drive results.

Day to day, you’ll take full ownership of the month-end process, ensuring accounts are accurate and delivered on time, while also preparing forecasts, budgets, and performance reports that bring the bigger picture into focus. Just as importantly, you’ll be able to explain what the numbers mean – highlighting trends, challenging assumptions, and turning complex data into clear, actionable advice for management.

You’ll be leading and developing a small finance team, overseeing everything from compliance and audit requirements, through to analysis of business performance. The role calls for both a keen eye for detail and the ability to step back and see the wider commercial context. There will also be plenty of scope to improve processes, whether that’s refining reporting or strengthening financial controls.

To succeed, you’ll need to be a qualified accountant with strong post-qualification experience in a financial leadership role. You’ll be confident under pressure, able to meet strict deadlines, and comfortable influencing and challenging senior stakeholders. Strong systems knowledge, particularly in Excel, will be essential, and experience of developing financial information systems would be an advantage.

In return, this is a role with real breadth and variety. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how finance supports the business, gain exposure to a wide range of responsibilities, and become a trusted adviser to site management. If you’re ambitious, motivated, and looking for a role that combines technical expertise with leadership and influence, this could be your next step.If this sounds like a good next step for you, please apply of contact Ben Graney or Chris Ridgway for more information.
