Your new companyA privately held enterprise, established in 1970, oversees a diverse portfolio of operational businesses. Its core focus spans sectors including logistics and transportation, commercial vehicle services, manufacturing, equipment distribution, and property-related ventures. They are looking for an interim financial controller whilst recruiting on a permanent basis. This role could be temporary to permanent for the right candidate.

  • Fully office-based 8am-5pm

Your new roleAs Financial Controller, you will deliver high-quality financial management and strategic insight to senior stakeholders. Key responsibilities include preparing and consolidating financial reports, managing the balance sheet, overseeing cash flow and banking operations, and supporting central functions through budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. You will also lead the enhancement of internal controls, ensure compliance with audit and governance processes, and drive continuous improvement in financial practices while providing effective leadership and development across the finance team.What you'll need to succeed

  • Extensive experience in accounting with a recognised professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred; exceptional experience also considered)
  • Strong technical accounting expertise
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with all levels of management and staff
  • High level of IT proficiency -Sage
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to changing situations
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
