Your new company

We are working exclusively with an SME manufacturing company who are looking for an interim financial controller during a period of change. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with all aspects of a growing company, including hands on preparation of accounts, audit processes, and strategic decision making with the wider group. Please note - This role has the potential to become permanent with progression path to Finance Director the right candidate.This role could also be suitable for an available established FD within an SME manufacturing environment on an interim basis.Your new role

You will be working closely with the managing director, small transactional finance team and wider group senior leadership team.Finance Operations: Balance the delivery of finance operations in established SME manufacturing businesses and develop and shape the finance function across a newly formed group of companies.Financial Reporting: Own the delivery of the group's consolidated management, parent group, and statutory financial reporting.Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead a hands-on role in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring audit requirements are met across the subgroup.Financial Support: Provide financial and analytical support to the MD and the Board, including cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and wider industry analysis.Acquisition Activity: Support the MD with acquisition activity, including modelling potential targets, undertaking initial due diligence, managing advisors through the acquisition process, and leading post-acquisition integrations.Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the senior management leadership team to ensure financial information is accurate and insightful, and the finance function operates with quality data, robust processes and controls, and effective resource management.External Relationships: Manage external relationships with banks and other advisors.What you'll need to succeed

  • ACA Qualified (ACCA & CIMA also considered)
  • Ideally ex-big 4
  • Ambitious, strategic, growth focused mindset
  • People leadership experience
  • Focused on improving controls and reporting
  • Skilled in subgroup financial reporting
  • Credible communicator at senior levels
  • System - Sage
