Our client is a leading Logistics, Manufacturing and Interior Fit Out business, operating throughout the UK, with revenues North of £150 Million and an enviable client base across the retail, banking, commercial and leisure sectors.
Reporting to the Group Financial Director, this position is pivotal to the further development of the finance function. The Commercial Finance Manager will oversee and manage the finance team in the groups logistics operation and the role will require a qualified, capable and experienced candidate.

Selected tasks and responsibilities for the Commercial Finance Manager include:
- Manage the monthly CVR process in conjunction with commercial managers
- Oversee the financial reporting of all manufacturing and logistics projects
- Ensure accurate and timely billing of costs to the client, supporting commercial teams to minimise WIP and achieve cash collection targets
- Continually review and analyse project commercial risk in conjunction with project surveyors
- Ensure costs are accurately accrued within each period and oversee/maintain accurate processes and records to manage plant, material and subcontract ledgers, weekly timesheet records and expense payments
- Day to day P&L and Balance sheet control for all 3PL, Retail Contracts and Transport across the locations, utilizing the support of the central finance team
- Design, prepare and maintain actuals, forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis for both customer-facing and internal purposes on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Complete new business bids assessing the balance of risk and reward
- Support contractual negotiations for renewals and new business
- Act as partner to the Operations team to evaluate the financial impacts of new and existing projects, and support customer negotiations as required. Monitor financial performance during the projects and highlight key variance metrics to the team
- Undertake data analysis reporting with a view to improving efficiency and improving process
- Ensure customer invoices are delivered accurately and on time
- Oversee inventory / stock holding of circa £20m of both businesses owned, and client owned. Ensure that the business operates a robust monthly cycle count process across all locations
Suitable candidates will:
- Have a professional finance qualification e.g. ACCA, CIMA or ACA
- Have experience in working in finance within Logistics, Manufacturing or Construction
- Have strong IT skills / experience including Excel and Accounting / ERP systems
- Be comfortable managing a small team
- Knowledge of Microsoft BI (would be an advantage)
