Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Simply Education is delighted to be recruiting a permanent teaching assistant in Doncaster.

Simply Education is currently working with a post-16 SEMH provision in Doncaster to recruit a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting students in a dynamic and nurturing environment. This will be a full time permanent position and starting as soon as possible. This provision is for students who have been or are at risk of permanent exclusion due to their challenging behaviours and for students who require a more specialised setting than a mainstream college.

As a teaching assistant in an SEMH provision, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with classroom activities and educational programs.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Managing and supporting challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a positive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of students with SEMH needs. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Previous experience working in SEMH, SEN, or a similar educational setting.
  • A high level of resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and inspiring young people.
  • A Level 3 TA Qualification is advantageous
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in an educational or care setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and related behavioural strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
