Elevation are working with a specialist, bespoke, forward-thinking kitchen manufacturing company in their search for 2 design engineers (Kitchen Deisgn). As part of an established technical team, you'll support either Retail focused or Projects/Contracts driven value streams (vacancies in both), creating high-quality kitchen designs and quotations. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented designer with proven experience in contract kitchen design and proficiency in CAD software.If your strengths sit across a more retail orientated skillset or a contracts/commercial bias, the team can accommodate both and are looking to further strengthen their design team in both areas.
Kitchen Designer Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate kitchen designs and quotations using CAD software
- Work from scaled architectural drawings provided by clients and/or work closely with retail third parties
- Ensure all items, accessories, and specifications are included in client quotations
- Liaise with clients and contractors to discuss design requirements, building strong relationships and ensuring a “right first time” approach
- Prepare professional, presentation-quality tender documents for client submission
- Review and accurately check your own work, as well as peer designs and quotes
- Follow established internal systems, processes, and quality standards
- Interpret tender enquiries and extract customer specifications
- Maintain commercial awareness to provide cost-effective design solutions
- Support colleagues within the wider Projects Team when required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Solid understanding of kitchen planning and design principles
- Hands-on design experience within the kitchen industry
- Creativity and design flair, with the ability to create functional, visually appealing kitchens
- Knowledge of kitchen component parts is highly desirable
- Ability to interpret and work from scaled drawings
- Proficient in CAD software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines
- Clear understanding and interpretation of project instructions
