We're seeking a proactive and personable individual to join our Private Client department as a Paralegal, with the potential for a Training Contract for the right candidate. This is a fantastic opportunity to build real-world legal experience and develop your skills in a supportive environment, working alongside experienced solicitors on a variety of matters including Wills, Probate, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a valued member of our Private Client team, you'll gain hands-on experience and contribute meaningfully to the department's day-to-day work. Under the guidance of qualified solicitors, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day management of client files, from instruction through to matter completion.
  • Drafting a range of legal documents, including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), Declarations of Trust, and probate-related forms.
  • Preparing documentation for probate applications and assisting in their submission to the Probate Registry.
  • Liaising with clients, executors, beneficiaries, and third parties such as banks, HMRC, and care providers, both in writing and over the telephone.
  • Attending client meetings, taking detailed attendance notes, and gaining exposure to the full client journey.
  • Undertaking legal research and keeping up to date with changes in private client law and relevant procedures.
  • Opening files and conducting compliance and ID checks in accordance with regulatory and internal procedures.
  • Managing key dates and deadlines to ensure files progress efficiently and client expectations are met.
  • Handling administrative tasks, including diary management, appointment booking, and file organisation.
  • Supporting the team with occasional business development, community engagement, and firm-wide initiatives.
