We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our expanding team. If you are passionate about designing small to medium-sized fabrications and sheet metal structures, this could be the perfect role for you. You'll work closely with our manufacturing and engineering teams to turn client specifications into precise, manufacturable designs.
What We're Looking For In A Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Experience in SolidWorks (solid modeling, sheet metal, and PDM)
- AutoCAD 2D & 3D experience
- Mechanical engineering understanding
- Experience designing small to medium fabrications and sheet metal structures
- Ability to translate customer specifications into full manufacturing drawings
- Mechanical engineering qualifications are desirable, CAM knowledge is a bonus but not essential
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Take ownership of CAD aspects of assigned projects, delivering drawings and information to deadlines
- Design, develop, and prototype new products following company Product Development Process (PDP)
- Produce supporting documentation, manuals, and drawings
- Attend project launch meetings and interpret client requirements
- Liaise with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective
- Provide technical support to customers as required
- Ensure all designs meet bodybuilder guidelines and current legislation
- Promote continuous improvement in design and process
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for mechanical design
Ideal Candidate:
You could be a CAD Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, or CAD Engineer with a strong passion for delivering high-quality designs. You'll be someone who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with a hands-on team, and seeing your designs come to life in production.
