Technical Operator/Machine Technician – DAYSLocation: DoncasterSalary: £30,557Hours: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts – 06:00am to 18:00hrsOur client, a key player in the FMCG sector, is seeking an experienced and driven Technical Operator to join their busy production facility in Doncaster. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your mechanical and electrical expertise to a thriving business while developing your skills across a range of cutting-edge technologies.The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and technical support of bespoke automated machinery. You’ll play a critical part in maintaining production efficiency, ensuring product quality, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.Duties
  • Operate specialised machinery for cleaning trays in a high-paced production environment
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet company standards
  • Perform both technical and general cleaning of equipment
  • Carry out repairs and refurbishments of machine components
  • Preventative and reactive maintenance of automated production lines
  • Maintain tools, workshop cleanliness, and overall housekeeping
  • Support the business with shift cover during holidays or absences
  • Collaborate effectively across shifts and teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Communicate with external software support to assist with machine issues
  • Support and train colleagues where needed
  • Actively contribute to productivity improvements
  • Uphold all health and safety standards and procedures
The Candidate
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar machine technician/technical operator role desired
  • Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience
  • Pneumatics knowledge
  • Confident reading diagrams, technical manuals, and fault-finding to component level
  • Strong IT and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexible approach with a willingness to develop professionally
