Project Manager - Structural Steelwork
Location: Harworth, Doncaster
Salary: 40,000-60,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple structural steel installation projects for a well-established engineering company. The business delivers projects across the Railway, Highways, and Construction sectors, collaborating with Tier 1 contractors on high-profile schemes. This role is ideal for a professional with a steelwork background who can confidently manage large-scale projects from design through to installation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the design, production, and installation of structural steelwork projects.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, structural steelwork plans, connection details, and specifications.

  • Undertake site surveys and provide detailed information for fabrication and installation.

  • Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

  • Ensure project requirements, scope of works, and specifications are fully understood and delivered.

  • Maintain clear communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

  • Office-based duties when not on site, with occasional weekend, night, or away-from-home work as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in steelwork project management, supervision, or site management.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and structural steelwork drawings.

  • Competence in coordinating complex projects and understanding project specifications.

  • Confident user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (NEBOSH, SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS).

  • PTS certification preferred (can be completed post-appointment; Drugs/Alcohol medical required).

Advantageous Experience:

  • Fabrication/Plating, Steel Erection, Project Delivery, Estimating, Planning, Design.

Projects Include:

  • Railway stations and access-for-all schemes

  • Rail, road, and footbridges

  • Platform canopies, staircases, lift shafts, motorway gantries

  • Structural steelwork repairs

  • Temporary works and sub-contract packages (glazing, cladding, balustrades, civils)
