Document Controller - DorchesterWe are seeking to speak with a detail-oriented Document Controller to join the project team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining project documentation, ensuring information is well-organised, accessible, and securely stored. You will work closely with various departments to uphold quality standards and promote efficient document control processes.As a leading UK regional contractor, they deliver specialist design and build capabilities, supporting the nation's vital services and infrastructure. Their work spans a wide range of construction projects, including schools, hospitals, roads, and water facilities and manage projects from inception through to completion, integrating all aspects of design and construction.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and control all project document flow, ensuring information is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure understanding and compliance with document control procedures and CDE system processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate information management.
  • Support design and project managers by identifying documentation issues and providing updates.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on common data environment software to project teams and subcontractors.
  • Ensure documents are archived efficiently for easy access and reference.
  • Assist with project documentation management and distribution.
  • Maintain the document control system and prepare ad-hoc project reports as required.
  • Provide general administrative support.
About You:
  • Strong administrative skills with experience in document control.
  • Familiarity with Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of document management processes and systems (e.g., ASITE, BIW, 4projects) is desirable.
  • Understanding of BIM principles is a plus.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications in IT or Administration (e.g., NVQ, GCSEs/A-Levels).
