About the Role

The KIT practitioner's primary role is to supervise keeping in touch sessions whilst Dorset Council are in proceedings with the children and families we are working with.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

  • you will maintain succinct and timely records of Keeping in Touch sessions. These records are input into MOSAIC, our computer system for recording
  • quickly establishing professional working relationships is essential. You'll interact with various stakeholders, including families, colleagues, and community members.
  • you'll encounter complex situations and must be adept at managing them effectively.
  • the role requires travel between locations, including visits to people's homes, community settings, and Children's Centres. All work is subject to ongoing risk assessments and is well supported by the Keeping in Touch management team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

You will:

  • have the skills and aptitude to work with young people and their families in a variety of environments; indoors in the family home or a contact centre, in the community in parks or leisure activities
  • be dependable and reliable and committed to delivering a high quality services to our children and families.
  • you may already be employed in the child care or people work environment.

It is important that you have:

  • experience of or a real interest in working with children and young people;
  • excellent written and spoken English;
  • excellent communication skills
  • the potential to build positive professional relationships and earn trust;
  • the ability to think creatively and respond to changing situations;
  • Energy and patience.
