About the Role

You will be joining a well-structured and organised team of around 30 individuals who are looking to grow the staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team within Dorset Council.

The team are involved in Mainstream assessment and post approval support. Kinship assessments (including Reg 24/Fostering/Special guardianship). Supported Lodgings assessment and support. Staying Put Run the Mockingbird model.

Day to day activities

  • You will plan own diary.
  • Full team meeting once a month and assessment team meeting once a month
  • Take turn in duty rota.
  • Role will be to complete approx. 4 kinship (fostering/SGO) through to completion to work between home and office

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 3 years post qualification experience within UK
  • Enhanced Childrens & Adults DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • SWE Registered
  • Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)
  • Fulfil the travel requirements of the role
  • Experience in Fostering and SG assessments
  • Experience of Assessing Kinship Carers by way of fostering and Special Guardianship
  • familiarity of Coram Baaf forms
  • Experience of fostering post approval work.
