Role: Project Engineer Location: Dorset Salary: £55K DOE About the Role:The Project Engineer will work closely with the Systems Engineering Lead and play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful technical execution of the programme. The position requires strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple technical workstreams from planning through to delivery and validation. Key Responsibilities:
Project Mobilisation:
- Support the early-stage mobilisation of the programme, contributing to detailed planning and resource coordination.
- Develop and maintain the Trials, Testing & Validation Plan to ensure system readiness.
- Assist with supplier onboarding and approval processes in line with project mobilisation goals.
Engineering Delivery:
- Provide technical support and engineering input across the project lifecycle.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and project plans.
- Serve as a key interface between engineering teams, project stakeholders, and suppliers, managing technical queries and resolving non-conformances.
- Support equipment setup, testing, and commissioning, ensuring alignment with validation protocols.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure technical compliance with system requirements.
- Monitor and report on deliverables, maintaining high-quality standards and adherence to industry or project-specific requirements.
- Lead investigations into non-conforming equipment or services and produce thorough, evidence-backed reports.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates, ensuring visibility of progress, risks, and actions.
- Champion a strong safety culture across the team and wider delivery partners.
Travel Requirements:
- This role involves regular travel across the UK and Europe to oversee supplier assessments, conduct technical inspections, and participate in equipment acceptance activities. Candidates must be flexible and willing to travel as needed.

- Strong engineering background, ideally within a defence, aerospace, or complex technical environment.
