Have you recently completed your apprenticeship or are you a time-served Maintenance Engineer with experience in a fast-paced food production environment?

Yolk Recruitment is supporting a well-established manufacturer that prides itself on quality, investment, and a collaborative culture. This is an exciting opportunity to join their engineering team as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

This is what you'll be doing

You'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of a busy food production site, carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance while supporting minor projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and keep production on track.
  • Respond to breakdowns quickly, ensuring clear communication with production teams.
  • Identify and investigate root causes of recurring issues, documenting corrective actions.
  • Support project work and assist the site project team with small installations and upgrades.
  • Maintain and service utilities including boilers, compressed air, and water treatment systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, and environmental standards.
  • Carry out electrical fault finding and component replacement, including drives, relays, and 3-phase equipment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, sharing knowledge and supporting best practices across the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • NVQ Level 3 or time-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
  • 18th Edition qualified (or working towards).
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills with mechanical competence (pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, etc.).
  • Experience in FMCG or similar fast-paced production environment preferred.
