Azenta Life Sciencesare looking for an Instrument Assembly Cell Operator to join our manufacturing team based in Wotton. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the manufacturing, assembly, calibration, and testing of life science instruments, including rework and sub-assembly manufacturing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong practical skills who enjoys working in a structured production environment.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manufacture, assemble, calibrate, and test life science instruments in line with defined work instructions.

  • Work to a production schedule to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.

  • Prepare work by reviewing assembly instructions and parts lists, and gathering required tools, materials, and sub-assemblies.

  • Assemble components by ensuring correct fit and fastening of parts and sub-assemblies.

  • Verify product specifications by measuring completed components.

  • Complete work order documentation and transactions using the ERP system.

  • Raise quality issues in line with company Quality procedures.

  • Carry out basic preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and escalate repairs when required.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment in compliance with all procedures and regulations.

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, anticipate supply needs, and support ordering and receipt of materials.

What You Will Need

  • Experience working with electrical components, including soldering.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing systems.

  • Ability to understand and follow detailed procedures and work instructions.

  • A solid understanding of relevant principles, techniques, and processes within the discipline.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
