Day to day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons to students aged 11-16.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s procedures and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by school policy.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and whole school training events.
  • Plan and prepare courses and lessons, following the school’s curriculum and teaching guidelines.
  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes a passion for English.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Excellent subject knowledge in English.
  • Proven ability to motivate students and achieve excellent results.
  • Strong organisational and ICT skills.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team and to lead effectively.
  • A passion for English and the ability to inspire and share this with young people.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
