We are seeking a Responsible Financial Officer to join our team in a prestigious and historic organisation based in Dover. This vital role encompasses managing all financial functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, managing risks, and providing strategic financial advice.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Carry out all statutory financial functions, ensuring adherence to financial regulations.
  • Provide timely financial information and advice to the organisation.
  • Manage annual financial risk assessments and develop financial mechanisms in collaboration with senior management.
  • Record all financial transactions, income, and expenditure, maintaining accurate records of assets and liabilities.
  • Produce year-end accounts and manage the internal audit process.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and manage the organisation's cash flow.
  • Coordinate the production of the annual budget and financial forecasting.
  • Undertake financial tasks, interpret financial information, and advise on financial regulations and risk management.
  • Ensure timely payment and receipt of invoices and manage payroll and pension submissions.
  • Arrange utility contracts and source insurance for organisational properties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Financial Qualifications – AAT Level 3 minimum.
  • Strong experience in financial management, preferably within a public sector or similar environment.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Proficient in managing multiple financial tasks and producing detailed financial reports.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Initiative, creativity, and the ability to think conceptually and strategically.
