Our client, a leading water sector specialist, is seeking skilled Workshop Technicians to join their permanent team in Dover, Kent. These roles are primarily based in the workshop and focus on mechanical work involving rotating equipment, with occasional field assignments for equipment removal, installation, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overhauling and repairing rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, and gearboxes
  • Accurately measuring and testing components to ensure they meet manufacturing specifications
  • Carrying out inspections and quality control on refurbished equipment
  • Supporting occasional on-site installation and commissioning of equipment
  • Collaborating closely with the service manager and fellow technicians to maintain high workshop efficiency
  • Managing tasks to meet strict project deadlines and schedules
Job Requirements:
  • Extensive mechanical expertise, particularly in the rebuild and testing of rotating equipment
  • Proven experience with pumps, motors, and gearboxes
  • A completed time-served apprenticeship in a relevant mechanical discipline
  • Previous work experience in the water utilities industry or similar sectors
  • Strong component measuring and testing skills
  • High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with industry standards and manufacturing guidelines
  • Strong teamworking skills and the ability to take direction from the workshop manager
