Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with several specialist schools in the Dover area who are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These schools support students aged 10-16 with a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum conditions (ASC), social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), and moderate learning needs.

Many of the students have faced disruption in their education and benefit enormously from a calm, structured, and nurturing environment-something these schools work hard to provide every single day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting students with their learning, both in and out of the classroom

  • Helping to manage behaviour in a supportive and constructive way

  • Working one-to-one or in small groups to deliver personalised interventions

  • Promoting emotional well-being and social development

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals

Ideal Candidates Will Have:
  • A passion for working with children and young people with additional needs

  • Resilience, empathy and strong communication skills

  • Experience in an SEN, alternative provision or pastoral setting (desirable but not essential)

  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn

  • A Child-only DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind)
