Position: Psychology Graduate - Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities of the Role of a Teaching Assistant:

  • Work alongside teachers to deliver lessons and support learning across a range of subjects
  • Provide targeted one-to-one or small group support to pupils who need extra help
  • Support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges
  • Help pupils develop their social, emotional, and communication skills through structured activities and daily interactions
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour using positive reinforcement and consistent routines
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to suit individual needs and learning styles
  • Encourage pupils to engage in lessons, build confidence, and become independent learners
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to support plans
  • Help with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and supervision during breaktimes or school trips
