Elevation Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking and dynamic business, supporting their finance function with a broad range of responsibilities.

This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a strong foundation in accounting who is looking to take the next step in their career, with exposure to both core finance activities and strategic financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with financial data analysis and reporting
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and maintenance of accurate financial records
  • Supporting internal and external audit processes and ensuring compliance with financial procedures
  • Managing prepayments and accruals
  • Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end close procedures
  • Conducting financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Providing cover for the Accounts Assistant when required
About You:
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Confident user of accounting software packages
  • High level of IT literacy, including intermediate Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of HR or payroll processes would be advantageous
