We are working with a well established manufacturing business based in the East Riding who are seeking a Senior Estimator. The successful Senior Estimator will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase of both permanent and temporary build projects across commercial, education, and industrial sectors.

This is a strategic hire, ideal for someone who thrives on shaping winning bids, collaborating with design teams, and driving profitability from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects
  • Analyse tender documents including BoQs, architectural plans, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Understanding of JCT and NEC Contracts
  • Collaborate with internal and external design teams to ensure alignment on project scope and cost
  • Identify project risks and propose mitigation strategies during the tendering process
  • Manage pre-qualification questionnaires, quality submissions, and bid documentation
  • Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and inform cost planning

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience (3–5+ years) as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
  • Track record of pricing and winning tenders in a competitive environment
  • Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills – able to present and justify estimates to stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as needed
