Compass Associates is proud to be partnering with a leading care home provider on a significant leadership appointment. The organisation is prominent across the North of England, respected and values-led, seeking someone capable of taking operational leadership of a large residential care service in the East Yorkshire region. The home is a high-capacity site, operating across multiple units with an established on-site team and strong internal support structure.

Position: Home Manager | Residential | Elderly Care

Location: East Yorkshire

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

You will be responsible for the overall performance, compliance, and culture of a large multi-unit residential home. This includes:

  • Leading, developing, and mentoring a large multidisciplinary team, including unit managers and department heads.
  • Driving care quality improvements across the home in collaboration with the internal clinical governance and regional teams.
  • Promoting a strong and inclusive staff culture, encouraging progression and professional development.
  • Working to improve CQC outcomes, with a focus on sustainable and measurable improvements.
  • Ensuring the operational, staffing, compliance, and safeguarding standards are consistently met.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of budget management and commercial targets, with support from off-site finance and HR teams.
  • Playing a hands-on role in care planning, medication management (if clinical), and resident wellbeing oversight.

About You

We are looking for an experienced leader in elderly residential or nursing care who thrives in a high-responsibility role and has a track record of success in similar settings. Experience managing large elderly care homes is essential. Nonclinical managers are encouraged to apply also. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience improving CQC ratings in a challenging environment
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to lead large and diverse staff teams
  • A sound understanding of care governance, safeguarding, and risk management
  • Commercial awareness and operational confidence, particularly in large services
  • A passion for resident-centred care, dignity, and choice
  • Desirable: Experience managing multi-unit or large bedded services
  • Desirable: Registered Nurse (RGN), though not essential
