Lab assistant / Administrator job opportunity for a growing animal feed manufacturer based in the East Yorkshire area.

Company: Leading producer of animal feeds which has seen rapid growth in the last few years, now looking to establish itself as a leader in quality within this sector.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.

Salary: Up to 28k dependent on skills and experience.

Job role:

Your time will be split 50:50 across the Office and laboratory functions, providing admin support and customer service along with laboratory sample preparation and general housekeeping.

You will be involved in:

  • Entering customer orders onto the database and generating batch numbers.

  • Creating and printing order labels.

  • Answering customer queries over the phone or via email.

  • Checking incoming and outgoing lorries for weight using the weighbridge.

  • Sample preparation (including meat products) in the laboratory.

  • General housekeeping of the Laboratory.

  • Longer term - the opportunity to test lab samples.

What do you need to be considered?

You will need:

  • Previous customer service and administration experience.

  • Experience working in a laboratory would be preferable (but not essential)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Flexible approach to working across office and laboratory environments.
