About the Role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be the crucial link between our cutting-edge manufacturing teams and a world-class supply chain. You'll lead supplier audits, ensure quality compliance, and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives that raise the bar on supplier performance.

What You'll Do

Supplier Auditing & Qualification

  • Conduct audits to assess supplier compliance (initial, process, surveillance).
  • Evaluate capabilities against ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and PED standards.
  • Lead onboarding for new suppliers and manage ongoing qualification.

Supplier Development

  • Identify and resolve supplier issues using root cause analysis and 8D methodologies.
  • Partner with Procurement, Engineering, and Production to align quality standards.
  • Track performance using metrics, scorecards, and risk assessments.

Technical Quality Assurance

  • Review technical documentation (e.g., weld procedures, material certs, inspection reports).
  • Support validation processes including PPAP and FAIR.
  • Ensure adherence to pressure vessel and component safety regulations.

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion lean manufacturing, defect reduction, and "first-time-right" practices.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects focused on cost reduction, product launch, and risk mitigation.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role (ideally within manufacturing or engineered products).
  • Expertise in ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and PED compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, machining, assembly, and quality inspection methods.
  • Certified Lead or Internal Auditor (IRCA or equivalent).
  • Skilled in quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, etc.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
  • UK driving license and willingness to travel ~60%.
