Quantity Surveyor

Location: Dublin or Newbridge
Industry: Electrical Construction & Services
Scope of Work: A key role within the commercial team, working closely with the Managing QS to support on all commercial issues within this successful, growing business unit.

Turner Lovell is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading, highly innovative, multi-national engineering services company in Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to join a well established, highly regarded business that is experiencing growth in their electrical business unit through their success in the market. This role can be based in either Dublin or Newbridge, and there is a hybrid working model available of 2 days per week working from home.

With the support or the wider team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Encouraging and develop a culture of commercial awareness within the team; delegating appropriate work to junior staff; while ensuring the site team adheres to group procedures and governance
  • Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
  • Preparation of Valuations/Application for payment; preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
  • Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
  • Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
  • Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.


The ideal profile is someone with:

  • Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract and Standard Methods of Measurement.
  • Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others.
  • Experience in the management of subcontractors.
  • Management of Mechanical & Electrical packages and subcontractors, or similar
  • Estimation of tenders from first principles.
  • Experience of Microsoft Project.
