Great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work on the flagship DART+ programme, which is set to modernise Dublin's rail network by providing the city with an efficient, sustainable, faster and reliable rail system, whilst significantly increasing passenger capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Commercial contract management, from tender through to project completion
- Work closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure value for money engineering and construction
- Review cost estimates and cost plans on a regular basis, updating when required
- Work with the project team to ensure effective contractual and commercial support
- Identify, analyse and quantify project risks, update Risk Management Plan and Risk Register
- Review tender documentation and prepare Bills of Quantities
- Managed project budgets and costs
- Review costs provided by external partners
- Check on progress applications and prepare payment certificates
- Monitor, challenge and report on variations in line with change control mechanisms
- Conduct cost monitoring across the project, analysing and reporting on differences between projected and actual costs
Requirements:
- Significant previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, working on large rail, infrastructure, construction or engineering projects
- A relevant degree (Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management) or hold Chartered Quantity Surveyor status
- Strong ability to manage and administer construction contracts
- Knowledge and experience of Public Works contracts or NEC, FIDIC, CWMF, RIAI, IEI etc
- Proven track record in dispute resolution, covering conciliation, arbitration and adjudication
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Experience of BoQ, tender and contract documentation, Final Account settlements and management of change control
