Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various destinations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively. As a Truck Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and that our customers receive their deliveries on time.
Duties
- Operate lorries in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo, particularly when using flatbed trailers.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safety at all times.
- Assist with route planning to optimise delivery efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving is essential, with a valid HGV licence required for this role.
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar position is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are crucial for managing delivery schedules effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and clients professionally.
Temp to perm vacancies for well established client.
Role is all trunking work, no handball involved, below shifts available.
Monday - Friday 8pm starts
Tuesday - Saturday 2pm, 5pm, 9pm starts
Wednesday - Sunday 7pm starts.
Assessment slots available 2nd, 6th and 8th may 8am to srart on following shift rotation!
