Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will:
- Operate and monitor EfW plant systems, including the main boiler, turbine, and flue gas treatment (FGT) plant, from a central control room to ensure optimal performance.
- Uphold site safety standards by following Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and performing safety inspections.
- Assist in managing plant performance, conducting routine tests, and accurately recording operational data.
- Handle emergency procedures calmly and effectively, ensuring continuous plant operation.
- Conduct shift handovers efficiently and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Prior operational experience within continuous process industries, ideally in power generation or a similar environment.
- Solid understanding of environmental permits, health and safety practices, and safety rules.
- Ex defence applications welcomed.
Personal skills
The Plant Operator role would suit someone who:
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is adaptable, flexible, and able to do both day and night shifts.
