Crane Maintenance Engineer, Dudley, up to £41.5k (review after six months)


My client is a production company supplying and supporting the construction industry. They are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who has a flexible attitude to carry out servicing, repair and

examinations on a variety of overhead cranes within their busy workshop.


The role will include: -

The inspection and maintenance of overhead cranes and lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER guidelines.

Breakdown investigation (electrical and mechanical) and repair of all equipment.

Installation of any new equipment.

As part of the role, you will be expected to complete all the necessary associated paperwork in accordance with current legislation and company procedures.

Working alongside their existing mechanical maintenance operative and electrician to maintain a workshop which is able to continue constant production.


Successful candidate must show: -

Proven experience working as an engineer in this field, with knowledge of diagnosing and repairing of faults with a good understanding of both LOLER and PUWER.

Background of working in electrical and mechanical engineering with a good understanding of general engineering fundamentals.

The ability to Work at Height.

CSCS and other relevant qualifications are recommended, although additional and on-going training is provided.

An understanding of the principles of working to risk assessments and method statements.

Physically fit and able to work at heights.

Ability to work the required hours and willingness overtime (weekdays and weekends) if required there is a possibility of callouts outside of the normal working hours, however these are exceptionally rare.

Workshop based, no travelling to different sites or working away.
