Senior Dispute Resolution Solicitor
Location: Dudley
Salary: DOE

Simpson Judge have partnered with a well established West Midlands firm who are looking to bring in an experienced Dispute Resolution Solicitor. This appointment forms part of the continued growth of their dispute resolution practice and represents an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing their presence in the region.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience and a proven track record of advising and representing clients across a wide range of commercial and civil disputes. You will be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team, with strong technical expertise and a pragmatic, client-focused approach.

Key areas of work will include:

  • Contractual disputes, including breach of contract and misrepresentation claims
  • Shareholder, partnership and director disputes
  • Property litigation, including landlord and tenant issues, boundary disputes and restrictive covenants
  • Debt recovery, enforcement and insolvency-related matters

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied caseload of complex dispute resolution matters from instruction to conclusion
  • Providing clear, strategic and commercially focused advice to clients
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and settlement agreements
  • Representing clients effectively in negotiations, mediation and court proceedings
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, with a focus on business development and networking in the local and wider West Midlands market
  • Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team where required

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 8 years' PQE (or equivalent experience as a Chartered Legal Executive) in commercial and civil litigation
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of dispute resolution processes and procedure
  • Be confident in handling high-value and complex cases
  • Possess strong advocacy, negotiation and drafting skills
  • Show excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-centric mindset
  • Be proactive, organised and commercially astute, with the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
