I'm currently recruiting for a Production Manager for a manufacturing company based in Dudley. The role involves overseeing the daily operations, making sure everything runs safely, smoothly, and to a high standard. You will have experience within manufacturing environments and be a hands-on leader with strong people management skills.

Daily Duties:

  • Take full ownership of the Production Team - overseeing staff, operations (from intake to despatch), health & safety, quality, hygiene, security, and cleanliness
  • Ensure all production meets company quality standards, food safety regulations, and customer expectations
  • Support and develop Team Leaders and Deputies, helping them grow and plan for future leadership roles
  • Track and report on performance, including downtime and efficiency
  • Reduce downtime and improve efficiency using lean tools like 5S and SMED
  • Introduce effective and sustainable improvements to processes and procedures
  • Ensure a safe working environment, acting quickly on any health & safety issues
  • Lead problem-solving activities to find and fix root causes of issues
  • Work with Team Leaders to ensure smooth and clear shift handovers

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven leadership experience within manufacturing environments - ideally food/FMCG
  • Strong people leadership skills
  • Familiar with improvement tools like 5S, SMED, Lean, or similar
  • Proactive and always looking for ways to improve
  • Local - ideally within 30 minutes from site
  • Strong focus on health & safety and food safety standards
