Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs to succeed in education? Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming secondary school in Dudley to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on making a difference and is committed to helping learners overcome barriers to their education.

You'll be working within mainstream classrooms as well as supporting on a 1:1 basis, helping students with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, social and emotional challenges, and other learning difficulties.

Your Role Will Involve

  • Providing tailored support to SEN learners both in lessons and in small groups

  • Helping students stay engaged, focused, and confident with their learning

  • Assisting with differentiated lesson materials to ensure accessibility for all pupils

  • Encouraging independence, resilience, and positive social development

  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and families to provide joined-up support

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting young people with additional needs in a school or youth setting

  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly with students

  • Confidence in supporting behaviour management and promoting positive engagement

  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is helpful but not essential - attitude and commitment are most important
