Location: Dukinfield

Salary: Up to £37,500 PA DOE

Working hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities

  • As the bookkeeper, keeping financial records up to date, accurate, and compliant
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments and customer invoicing
  • Performing regular bank reconciliations and monitoring day-to-day cash flow
  • Preparing VAT returns and ensuring ongoing HMRC compliance
  • Assisting in the production of monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Supporting year-end audit preparation and liaising with external accountants
  • Maintaining and reconciling the general ledger
  • Managing credit control and overseeing aged debtors
  • Processing staff expenses and company credit card transactions
  • Supporting payroll preparation and pension submissions (if required)
  • Reviewing and updating financial procedures and internal controls
  • Communicating with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to resolve finance-related queries
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections
  • Filing, maintaining, and archiving financial documentation in line with GDPR and company policy
  • The bookkeeper will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations and supporting wider finance team goals

Requirements

  • AAT Level 4 qualification (essential)
  • Proven experience in a Bookkeeper or finance role
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident user of accounting software including Sage 50 and Excel
  • Experience in construction, rental, or hire industries is a plus
