We are hiring for a Database Officer role with a Local Authority in Southwest England, primarily remote.
The position offers a rate of £350-450 per day via umbrella, inside IR35, depending on candidate experience.
This is a full-time contract role with an initial duration of 3-6 months.
Candidates must have local government experience and a background in Asset Management, databases, and firewalls.
Advanced skills in Excel and Power BI, along with a qualification in data management, are also required.

We are working on a Database Officer role with a Southwest based Local Authority.

Location: Southwest England

Set-up: Mostly remote

Rate: £350-450/day via umbrella, inside IR35 (flexible upon candidate experience)

Duration: Initial 3-6-month contract

Hours: Full-time position

Responsibilities include:

Collect and manipulate data
Connect Power BI to various data sources (SQL databases, Excel, APIs, etc.)
Day to day dealing with finance systems, reports and spreadsheets
Monitor database performance (e.g., slow queries, resource usage)
Perform regular database backups and verify backup integrity

Requirements:

Local Government experience required for shortlisting, thereafter at clients discretion
Experience in Asset Management, databases, firewalls
Knowledge of Building Asset Management
Qualification in data management
Experienced in Advanced Exel and Power BI
