Our clients are an exciting, forward-thinking brand in financial services. They are looking for a File Checker to join on a full-time, permanent basis. 

The File Checker role works effectively and efficiently in the completion of desk-based file reviews, reviewing simple and complex cases to ensure compliance with FCA regulations. Supporting members and clients at all times.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To carry out desk based file checking for members and clients across the full range of financial services products, with the exception of Defined Benefit Pension Transfer advice, by preparation and issue of reports.
  • To work effectively as a team with other Advice Quality Consultants to ensure the pipeline is managed and cases returned to members and clients within deadline.
  • Dealing with member and clients’ telephone and email queries and providing support to the firms.
  • Liaise with Pensions Technical and Technical departments where necessary to ensure accuracy of technical information provided to members and clients.
  • To manage own workload and prioritise cases depending on deadline date.
  • To work efficiently in order to achieve individual and team targets.
  • To ensure quality assurance by liaising with colleagues and proactively incorporating feedback from management.
  • To assist the administration team and be the first point of escalation for any member and client issues. 
  • Keep up to date with all regulatory and industry changes and ensure own knowledge is enhanced and maintained through relevant continued professional development.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum level 4 qualification.
  • Mortgage, equity release and long term care qualifications desirable.
  • Previous experience in compliance / file reviewing / advice quality is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in Provider and/or Financial Services intermediary business preferable, demonstrating broad technical and compliance knowledge.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills.
