Venn Group are currently working with a Local Authority in the South West, who are seeking a Project Manager on an interim basis.

Main duties of the job:

  • Reporting into the Head of Analysis & Evaluation and working closely with the head of Performance, the interim project manager will specialise in project management, in particular of IT procurement
  • Lead on the completion of the Gateway Review evaluation and implementation of a corporate project tracker
  • Oversee the project management of two critical short-term projects:
    • Research to inform the Gateway Review of the Investment Fund portfolio
    • Procurement and implementation of a corporate project tracker database
  • Establish and maintain project plans and coordinate team members to ensure delivery remains on track
  • Assist in moving the projects forward, for example by ensuring that partners have the information they need at the right time
  • Liaise with the suppliers to tackle issues that arise and maintain timescales
  • With a particular background in IT project management, assist the project team and the project tracker supplier to effectively implement a database solution, and embed data entry processes into the organisation

Essential Skills:

  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to work under pressure, prioritise and take a lead in ensuring the delivery of results, ideally in implementing IT systems
  • Experience of working in a complex stakeholder environment and can demonstrate ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
