About the Role:

Somerset Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to lead their newly created Safeguarding Service.

What will your responsibilities be?

In this role, you will provide leadership and operational management for the Somerset-wide Safeguarding Service. You will ensure efficient and effective service delivery in line with organisational requirements, uphold defensible decision-making and statutory guidance principles, and apply relevant legislation in practice while maintaining professional priorities and ethical practice. You will build and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies, contribute to the work of the Somerset Safeguarding Adults Board, and constructively challenge others by providing direction and guidance. Additionally, you will foster a safe, open learning culture where learning is embedded into practice and think and act creatively, challenging circumstances and environments that marginalise, exclude, or oppress.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving license
  • Post-qualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
