SEN Case Officer - Assessments Team

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: £250 per day, umbrella Inside IR35

Duration: Until the end of June 2025 initially, potential to extend

Working pattern: Fully remote (Responsible for collection and return of laptop)

Our client is seeking two SEN Case Officers to join them in an interim basis within their Assessment team. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the statutory assessment process for children and young people with special educational needs, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and legal timeframes
  • Write and amend EHCP Plans
  • Act as the named officer for families, schools, and professionals, providing guidance and support throughout the EHCP needs assessment process
  • Gather, analyse, and summarise complex information from multiple agencies to inform decisions on whether to issue an EHCP
  • Prepare high-quality reports and case documentation for panel decisions, clearly outlining key issues, proposed outcomes, and resource implications
  • Work collaboratively with education, health, and social care professionals to ensure robust, evidence-based assessments that reflect the child or young person’s needs

Key requirements:

  • Current DBS that is on the Update Service
  • At least 2 years Local Government experience
