We are working with a leading Further Education provider in South East Wales who are looking to appoint a number of English Lecturers to deliver GCSE English Language, Essential Skills Communication, and adult literacy qualifications to post-16 learners on full-time study programmes.

There are a range of full-time and part-time positions available across several sites in the region. These roles offer the opportunity to join a well-regarded and supportive team focused on delivering high-quality learning experiences and improving learner outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for committed and enthusiastic teachers who want to play a key role in supporting learners to achieve and progress. The successful candidates will teach and support a diverse range of young people and adults, helping them prepare for further study or employment.

Applicants should ideally have:

  • A degree in English Language or a related subject (preferred but not essential)

  • A Level English Language (A-C grade)

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE or Cert. Ed), or the willingness to work towards one

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage a varied workload

  • A learner-focused approach and the ability to build rapport quickly with students

Additional Information:

You will work closely with subject leads to prepare learners for assessment and report on learner progress to curriculum teams. As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be asked to complete a 45-minute micro-teach, an assessment, and a formal interview.

Basic Welsh language skills are desirable, and applications may be submitted in Welsh or English. Welsh applications will not be treated less favourably.

Employment will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and, where appropriate, registration with the Education Workforce Council.
