The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full-time Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join a forward-thinking and supportive team at Wiltshire College & University Centre. Based at either the Trowbrideg or Sailsbury campus, this role is ideal for an experienced industry professional looking to transition into teaching-or for qualified lecturers ready to inspire the next generation of electricians.

You'll play a vital role in shaping learners' futures through high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment, and be part of a collaborative department known for delivering excellence in vocational education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching across Electrical Installation courses (Level 1 to 3).

  • Create schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that meet awarding body requirements.

  • Assess learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.

  • Support learners pastorally and academically, helping them to meet personal targets.

  • Participate in enrolment, induction, open events, and promotional activities.

  • Maintain accurate student records and contribute to quality assurance processes.

  • Promote safe working practices and uphold safeguarding and equality policies.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A Level 3 qualification or higher in Electrical Installation.

  • Significant hands-on experience in electrical installation (domestic, commercial, or industrial).

  • Good communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate learners.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and work within deadlines.

  • A proven commitment to continuous professional and personal development

Desirable:

  • A full teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS) or willingness to work towards one.

  • Assessor and/or IQA qualifications.

  • Experience delivering City & Guilds or EAL qualifications.

  • Understanding of safeguarding, equality, and health & safety in an educational setting.
