Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes are recruiting for an experienced Project & Process Engineering Team Leader to head up a multi-disciplinary engineering team. This brand-new role offers the opportunity to shape the team, drive process excellence, and lead major engineering and capital projects across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of process, project, and automation engineers, plus project support and an engineering apprentice.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet site and departmental objectives.
  • Provide coaching, training plans and ongoing performance management.
  • Act as the process owner for core technologies including moulding, machining and assembly.
  • Provide and coordinate process engineering support across all production lines.
  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Identify and implement new technologies, automation opportunities and equipment innovations.
  • Lead the engineering project management function and promote best-practice project delivery across the full lifecycle.
  • Oversee the planning, delivery and reporting of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Personally manage selected strategic projects involving new machinery, installations and capital investments.
  • Maintain high-quality project documentation and risk management processes.

About You

  • Degree in Engineering (Level 6 or equivalent) or suitable industry experience.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing engineering teams
  • Experienced in manufacturing process development and continuous improvement
  • Managing engineering projects (planning, delivery, cost and risk control)
  • Formal project management qualification (e.g., APM PMQ)
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Analytical problem-solving and confident decision-making
  • Clear communication and influencing skills
  • Coaching and mentoring ability
  • Strong technical documentation and reporting skills
  • Results-driven, organised, and proactive
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
