Are you an expert in welding engineering with a passion for quality and safety in a highly regulated environment? We are seeking a Welding Superintendent to play a pivotal role at Hinkley Point C, one of the largest and most complex nuclear construction projects in Europe.

About the Role

As Welding Superintendent, you will support Construction Programmes and Quality Delivery Managers in delivering world-class welding and metallurgical quality standards. You'll work closely with contract partners, guiding them to achieve the highest quality welding standards in a nuclear licensed environment. You will ensure welders are qualified, processes are controlled, and continuous improvements are identified and implemented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide contract partners on all welding-related activities.
  • Ensure welder qualifications and welding procedures meet project standards.
  • Promote a culture of high-quality work, safety, and compliance.
  • Oversee day-to-day welding activities and resolve on-site challenges.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across six project programmes.
  • Support the continuous improvement of welding and erection operations.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Extensive experience as an Expert Welding Engineer on large construction projects.
  • Deep understanding of welding operations in regulated industries.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
  • Ability to write concise technical reports.

Desirable:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Materials Engineering.
  • Hands-on welding or mechanical trade background.
  • Experience in nuclear or similar regulated industries.
