An experienced Finance Business Partner is required to support the operations of a major UK industrial business, based at its manufacturing site in Dunbar, Scotland. This is an important commercial finance role offering the opportunity to influence operational decisions and performance at a key site.

You will be office-based for a minimum of four days per week (ideally five), partnering closely with the site leadership team and contributing to continuous improvements in variable and fixed costs, production KPIs, and overall financial control. For the right individual, this contract role has the potential to develop into a permanent opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver timely and accurate financial information to regional management and operational teams
  • Maintain integrity of accounting records, assets, and liabilities
  • Review monthly site performance, including cost statements, KPIs, and variance analysis
  • Provide insight and analysis that supports operational and strategic decision-making
  • Manage financial reporting for:
    • Site-level operations in Dunbar and Northern depots
    • National-level functions including support costs and weekly KPI tracking
  • Lead on budgeting and forecasting for the region
  • Manage working capital improvements and inventory control
  • Support capital expenditure submissions and evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with audit, SOX, and wider financial control frameworks
  • Build strong relationships across finance, operations, commercial, and technical teams
  • Contribute to wider finance projects and improvement initiatives

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
  • Strong business partnering background, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment
  • Excellent commercial and operational finance experience
  • Confident in presenting financial insights and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Detail-orientated, hands-on, and highly motivated
  • Experience of working within a matrix organisation and across multiple functions
  • Strong systems skills and comfort with process improvement
