About the Role:

Brook Street is proud to be working with the Ministry of Defence to recruit an Information Systems Administrator for Queen Victoria School in Dunblane. This is an exciting opportunity to join a structured educational environment, supporting IT systems, hardware, and digital communication.

The successful candidate will work alongside the IT Systems Engineer, providing first-line technical support, maintaining hardware and software records, and ensuring that digital systems are running efficiently across the school site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the IT Asset Register and track all IT equipment, including Chromebooks.
  • Assist the IT Systems Engineer with technical support, including troubleshooting and issue logging.
  • Set up and maintain audio-visual equipment.
  • Act as a point of contact for staff IT queries and disseminate relevant information.
  • Coordinate Chromebook maintenance and repairs.
  • Upload and manage content across SharePoint, Google Workspace, and the school website.
  • Serve as Secretary to the QVS ICT Committee.
  • Carry out asset management tasks, particularly during quieter periods such as school holidays.
  • Log and escalate IT helpdesk tickets appropriately.

Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially SharePoint.
  • Basic understanding of ICT hardware.
  • Ability to resolve routine technical problems using own initiative or escalate as needed.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Well-organised with a proactive attitude.

Desirable:

  • IT desktop support experience.
  • Good general knowledge of Local and Wider Area Network technologies and related issues.
  • Experience with Google Workspace.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows server and client systems.
  • Understanding of IT asset management procedures.
  • Experience with IT security.
  • Prior experience in a school environment.

Compliance Requirements:

As this role is within a secure Ministry of Defence (MOD) environment, the successful candidate will need to meet the following requirements before starting:

  • Hold or obtain a current PVG (arranged internally if not already held).
  • Provide valid Right to Work documentation.
  • Supply proof of National Insurance and proof of current address.
  • Undergo full referencing for the past 3 years of employment history.
  • Additional security checks or permissions may be required depending on system access levels.
  • Interviews will be held on site. All candidates must be able to provide full right to work and ID documents on the day of interview to the client.
