An Agricultural seed business.
The Job Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and motivated General Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of growing, storage, grading and trading activities for this fantastic Agricultural business.
Location: Northeast Scotland
Salary Package: £60,000 - £75,000 Basic Salary + Vehicle (package open to discussion for the right candidate).
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of five full-time staff and up to twenty agency/temporary staff.
Production planning to facilitate early harvest & shipment to key export markets.
Liaise with landlords to secure suitable land to meet production targets.
Assist with preparation of annual budgets.
Machinery procurement and replacement planning.
Provision of accurate stock and inventory.
Facilities management; 7,000 tonnes of on-site storage & grading capacity.
Marketing of free variety seed and ware as necessary.
You will work closely with the wider team to assist in meeting all production and quality targets.
Candidate Requirements:
A good knowledge of general potato agronomy, crop production and storage are desirable.
An understanding of modern machinery.
People management experience.
Seed knowledge and experience.
